Love the game

Postby Flupke » Tue Feb 02, 2010 8:54 am

Hi,

First, i really love the game! As a veteran pinball lover i really had to buy the game, and its real good value for that price! I cant wait to see more pinball machines from Slamit.
Just a few questions and one remark.. Ill post em here because i couldnt find a better spot on the forum.

Do i need to create an account here, while i bought the game through Steam, to be able to use the internet scoring system?
I guess steam will deliver the new patches, or do i have to download them here?
Is there a manual or userguide to be found? Its hard to work out which player to choose, or how the camera modes work. Would also like to know what the game settings all do. Game modes are descibed in the game itself, thats cool.

One remark about the game itself. I seem to loose the ball most of the time when the safe shoots it out. It shoots it right trough the middle like 75% of the time. Not beeing albe to do anything about it really make's it very annoying and frustrating.

Love the game, cant wait for more!
Flupke.

PS, wherent locked balls suppost to be released when loosing the main ball? I just thought i remembered it that way from the real pinball machines from the 80's and 90's.

I suggest you manually download the v1.2 update from this site directly as it is not available from steam for reasons mentioned in another thread.

Thanks for your answer.
As i dont have any issues with the game, other then using the Caps Lock will lock my left flipper, i dont really have a need for the patch. I just wondered if Steam will patch the game for me. I guess not.

Ive been reading up on the whole developer/publisher story. Damn, you guys got fucked over by SF.
I hope you guys are able to deal with these thiefs, as I hope there will be more pinball tables like this one.

Can you answer the rest of my questions?
- How can i get my highscore up here?
- Where can i find a full manual explaining camera setup and the different players?
- am i the only one finding the game quite hard? Especially with the safe shooting the ball trough the middle with no way of stopping it? ( a speed setting for the game would also be nice, as its quite fast on my PC)

I think the internet high score feature is a part of v1.2 patch and adds an option for this in the game's options, as far as I know there is no manual regarding making your own camera settings but it is possible by editing some config files. See : viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19#p42

BTW... Im not related to the game, just lending a hand where I can.

It is possible to also play with some other config files and adjust table friction, gravity, elasticity etc etc... although doing so would make the uploadable highscores unreliable, at least in theory anyway. You can even change the physical size of the ball to some degree and make it bounce like a superball.

Cheers for your answer Gravy!

I will check the settings out, and try to find out what they do. Should be fun.
Too bad there isnt a manual somewhere. I still got some questions which normally should be answered in a user guide or manual.
Thanks for providing answers m8. If you wouldnt, I dont know who else here would. Its not as busy here as i had hoped.
