Game locks up after setting portrait mode

As the titles says..,after I installed patch 1.2 and turned on portrait mode the game never runs again,even if I reinstall and turn portrait off.
It did work the first time,but for some reasons it doesn't anymore,still tryiong some things to get it work again.

Windows 7 64bit here...
480 videocard.

A little more info.

After reinstalling the game (first a delete and reboot)
The game works fine.
But when reinstalling patch 1.2 it goes right back to potrait mode and crashes.
Deleting config ini's didn''t work aswell.
So patch 1.2 worked only one time.,..have to play it without any patches for now....

Really like to play portrait tho.
